Emile Heskey: Only A Matter Of Time For Liverpool Now!

Former Liverpool and England striker Emile Heskey says ‘the world is ready’ to bring back  Premier League football the Covid-19 pandemic.
Aston Villa, Heskey’s former club, are set to restart the season this week against Sheffield United – the Villains in a tight relegation battle have it all to play for, and were coincidentally the last team to play before the lockdown, against another of Emile’s former clubs Leicester City.
Having seen football, amongst many other sports, slide out of focus for society over the last few months, Emile says he’s glad it’s coming back.
Speaking to The Protein Works, Heskey said;
“I think the sporting world is ready to bring back sport in general, we’ve missed it. As long as it’s safe for the participants I think it’s great to have it back.”
There were words of caution and maybe slight scepticism however.
“We have to be careful we’re not using these athletes as guinea pigs for entertainment, but I have missed football, we just have to make sure no one comes down with Covid. No disrespect to the Bundesliga (the German top flight), but I missed the Premier League!”
Fellow Premier League Stars Danny Rose and Troy Deeney have voiced concerns about the return to the game, a concern Emile stood by and supported.
“If you take Troy Deeney as an example” said Heskey, “he’s got a family. If you had a young son with an underlying health condition you’d take precautions and you’d do the same thing – even his wife will be telling him!”
On the pitch Emile’s former club Liverpool look certain to wrap up the title, potentially in just two games time. Asked how he felt about it, the response was an excited one.

“It’s 2 wins, that’s all it is! It’s amazing, Liverpool is such a huge club and the fact they haven’t won the Premier League before is crazy. They’ve been dominating in Europe and now they’ve run away with the league. There’s almost an expectation now, 2 more games and it’s done. They have the mark of champions, and it’s only a matter of time before they pick up that trophy!”
